It give me great pleasure to announce ‘Blood and Glory 2015’

Blood & Glory is not just another Warhammer tournament, far from it, there will be loads of other things to do as well. The centrepiece of the weekend will indeed be a 2 day, 6 game AGE OF SIGMAR Championship event, but it is also a fantastic opportunity to show off (and be awarded for) your hobby talents, as well as see other, awesome armies and paint jobs. At Blood & Glory, there are lots of extra activities to take part in outside of the Championships.

This year we are running the following events

Age of Sigmar Championships – 2 days, 6 games.
AOS Patrol Encounters – Friday Evening fun event
AOS Clan Battles – Friday afternoon.
AOS Skirmish – Saturday evening until late.

All Age of Sigmar events will be based around the UK Independent Pools documents and accompanying Clash Comp pack.

In addition to the Warhammer events we will be running a full X-Wing Miniature game series of tournament across all 3 days, 60 points, 100 points and EPIC play events.

THE BLOOD AND GLORY ETHOS:

It’s worth underlining the Bad Dice Team’s aim for this whole event. It goes without saying that we want everyone to leave having had an amazing weekend. We also want to give players new to the tournament scene the chance to jump in without feeling total out of their depth while giving the regulars an event that they will be more than happy to recommend to their friends and can’t wait to attend again the following year.
We want to celebrate all areas of the hobby but keep the competitive edge that is part of the fun of tournament gaming. My personal highlight from most of the events I have attended over the years is the social side. The events that stick in the memory are the ones that offer lots for the players to do and keeps them gathered in one place in the evenings. We will make sure that no matter your preference for a tournament evening, we should have something on offer to keep you entertained and having a great time. Between the Bad Dice team, and our huge list of advisors, helpers and contributors we have attended and organised 100’s of events, this lets us see what works well, what we like and dislike and what we want to bring to Blood & Glory.

So onto the bits you all want to know and the bits that you really need to think about before attending.

TICKETS:

Tickets will be going on sale to Bad Dice Snake Eyes members on Tuesday 13th October at 8pm and on general sale the following evening Wednesday 14th at 8pm. Links and more information on how to get tickets will be available in the members section of the Bad Dice website and an email will be sent to members closer to sale date.

GAMING:

As stated above, we will be using the Pool document and Clash comp as created by Mo Ashraf. We have added a few tweeks to this to suit a 6 game event and will also be trying out including the TRIUMPHS rules that will apply to any games from the B+G event.

PAINTING:

There is an age old debate around painting scores impacting the overall score in a tournament. At Blood & Glory the painting scores will play a part. There will be a large amount of painting scores in this event. We will be using a system that is laid out in advance and will be achievable to all standards of painting. We don’t for a second expect that everyone has an award winning army in them, but we do want to see (and award) an effort to present an nice army and also award degrees of effort. Even a self confessed terrible painter should, with a good amount of effort, be able to score very highly in the painting section.

It should be noted that in conjunction with the pools system, you must have a model for every unit in your force that you intend to use. If you total army list has 30 polls then you must have all the models, and they will all be judged for painting. This is to stop (for example) an over being used as a Man-eater in one game and an Irongut int next.

SPORTSMANSHIP:

We have used a similar system for the last 2 years and will continue to do so.

AWARDS:

The list of awards for this event will be huge. Each year the feedback on prize support is fantastic and this year will be no different

The 2 that most people stayed at last year were the Derby South and Derby West Premier Inns.

THE B+G WEBSITE

All event information will be organised through the Blood and Glory website. In 2014 TWF was down for long periods in the run up to the event including over the dates of ticket sales.
